Life is peaceful in the small Armorican village, where the residents steadfastly pursue their usual activities. Our two heroes, Asterix and Obelix, go wild boar hunting, the blacksmith and the fishmonger argue fiercely as usual, and the chief is majestically carried on his shield across the village square.

But one day, the village druid, Getafix, receives strange mail. It's a letter from Hella Finidrir, the High Priestess of Thule! She announces to him that a grave threat looms over their people and asks him to retrieve a mysterious standing stone from its hiding place...
