The Eurofighter aircraft is a multi-role jet fighter developed by the Eurofighter GmbH consortium consisting of the United Kingdom, Germany, Italy and Spain. It entered service in 2003 and is used in several countries around the world.

The MiG-29 (NATO code: Fulcrum) is a Soviet, now Russian, modern front-line fighter aircraft that has been in production since 1983. This type of aircraft has been in service in East Germany since 1988. After German reunification, the MIG-29 fleet was maintained until 2002, when it was sold to Poland.
