Dark hearts are raining down from the sky and strange things are happening all over Dream Land! But when one of these hearts hits Kirby, it has an unexpected effect: Kirby gains the ability to turn his enemies into friends! With his team of unexpected allies, Kirby sets out to restore peace to Dream Land.
Open wide
In classic Kirby style, you suck in enemies and objects and then spit them out to hurl them at enemies and blocks. You can also copy the abilities of some enemies to make their unique attacks and powers your own.
Join forces!
Throw Friend Hearts at enemies to gain up to three allies for your team. Combine your special powers to unleash powerful attacks, solve puzzles or strengthen your weapons.
It's worth combining special powers from different elements such as fire, water and wind by passing them on to your companions or borrowing them. Combine stone and ice to turn a character into a curling stone that simply slides through walls! Combine fire with the sword to get the sizzling sword. Try out all the different combinations!
All aboard, the friends train is leaving!
Some special moves require all four team members to work together. Roll through all obstacles as a circle of friends, race through the level as a friend train or cross chasms as a friend bridge!
New special powers are waiting for you!
To defend yourself against the baddies, you have a range of special powers at your disposal, including both familiar and brand new ones! Wrap your opponent in a sticky web with the spider power and then throw him to the ground with the wrestler power. Each special power gives Kirby new abilities and actions.
Share the fun
Up to four players can play anytime, anywhere! Simply recruit a new ally with a Friend Heart in the game and then pass on a Joy-Con or Nintendo Switch Pro Controller to start playing straight away. When you combine your special powers, completely new paths open up to you - and together you can defeat powerful opponents all the more easily!
Minigames for even more fun
Compete against your friends (or computer opponents) in two mini-games! In “Hackmeister”, the aim is to be the first to chop down a tree. Cut as much wood as possible! In “Star Slam Heroes”, the player who can hit a falling meteor as far as possible wins!
Heal your companions
By reading in amiibo from the Kirby series (sold separately), you can make fruit appear to restore your companions' energy. You can read in amiibo eight times per level. So your team is always ready!
Summon dream friends!
After release, thanks to free updates*, particularly popular characters from the series can also become Kirby's friends - or at least his dream friends! Because when you've got the world to run, you need powerful support like King Dedede, Meta-Knight and the Waddle-Dee wizard!
