Monster Hunter: World, the latest instalment in the highly acclaimed action RPG series with over 40 million units sold, offers a living, breathing ecosystem in which you take on the role of hunters who track down ferocious creatures and hunt them down in breathtaking battles. A newly designed drop-in multiplayer system comes into play, allowing co-operative play across regional borders between Japan and the West, uniting the global gaming community for the first time.
Monster Hunter: World sends you into quests where you fight fearsome monsters and constantly upgrade your hunter skills as you play. Loot obtained from defeated creatures can be used to craft new equipment and armour upgrades. You move seamlessly through the map areas of the lively game world. The landscape and inhabitants play an important role in your strategies on your way to becoming the ultimate Hunter.
Welcome to the new world
In the role of a Hunter, you join an expedition and explore a new continent known only as the "new world". You embark on various quests to find out more about this mysterious land.
Hunting and crafting
Defeat monsters and collect loot to craft special weapons based on the enemies you defeat.
With the right equipment, hunters can exploit their enemies' weaknesses to gain an advantage in battle.
Living and breathing ecosystem
You use the surrounding landscape and wilderness to your advantage, for example by pitting monsters against each other to lure your main target to a strategically favourable location. However, hunters must be constantly on their guard to avoid falling victim to the dangers around them.
Master monsters
A variety of horrific creatures populate the new world, including the mainstay of the series, the Rathalos, and the new Anjanath. You can ride monsters thanks to a new mechanic, allowing you to inflict damage on specific body parts.
