As in other installments of the Civilization series, Sid Meier's Civilization VI challenges you to build an everlasting empire! Play as one of 20 leaders with different advantages and skills in the main game and lead your civilization from the Stone Age to the Information Age. Research new technologies, show your diplomatic skills and wage wars to achieve one of the five conditions for victory.

If you have already played other games in the series, you will have to learn a few new tricks to achieve a science or culture victory in Civilization VI. For a science victory, you now have to make a successful moon landing and later build a Mars colony. You secure a culture victory with tourism. Little has changed in terms of domination and point victories. Religious victories are new to the series and here you are faced with the challenge of spreading your religion to other civilizations using apostle and missionary units. Once your religion becomes the main religion in every civilization on the map, you have won.

Regardless of the mode of victory, Civilization VI offers new ways to interact with the world: Cities now physically extend into the local area, active research in culture and technology unlocks new growth potential, and opposing leaders pursue their own agendas based on their historical traits. Interactions with these leaders now evolve over time, starting with primitive first contacts where conflict is a law of nature, and moving on to the strategic intricacies of alliances and negotiations later in the game.

Civilization VI offers new players an easy start with a tutorial explaining the basic concepts of the game. And for veterans, the game offers a variety of ways to build their civilizations and set them up for success.
